The family of an 18-year-old man who died three days after a car he was driving struck a lamppost in Berkshire have paid tribute to the organ donor.

Robert January's Subaru estate crashed in Long Furlong Drive, Slough, on Friday. He died on Monday night.

His devastated family described him as someone who "enjoyed life". He became an organ donor two years ago.

A 16-year-old passenger, arrested on suspicion of being in a stolen motor vehicle, has been released on bail.

'Sadly missed'

Paying tribute to Mr January, his family said: "[Robert] used to attend Burnham Upper School and was known and loved by a great many people in and around the Burnham area who will miss him being around.

"He was a regular teenager who enjoyed going out with his mates, clubbing and generally enjoying life.

"Robert loved fishing and was always trying, like all anglers do, to land the big one."

Mr January was also "very particular" about his appearance and "designer clothing was an absolute must have", according to his family.

"He will be very sadly missed by mum, dad, sister and brother and also his very large family spread around the country," the added.

"To anyone young or old please consider becoming an organ donor as there are always people in need of them as we have found in our own unfortunate circumstances."
